SMC donates 8,400 sacks of flour to LGUs and bakeries

San Miguel Corporation (SMC) donated over 8,400 sacks of flour to local government units (LGUs) and bakeries in Metro Manila to support food rations and small businesses.

The donation aims to provide affordable and nutritious bread to communities while helping small bakers sustain their operations.

Ramon Ang, SMC president and COO, stated that the flour donation is crucial for LGUs to ensure citizens do not go hungry and remain healthy during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Each 25-kilogram sack of flour can produce approximately 1,600 pieces of pandesal.

The flour was distributed to various LGUs across Metro Manila, as well as to recipients in Batangas, Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, four army camps, and two NGOs.
