SM Prime opens 89th mall in La Union this Friday

SM Prime Holdings Inc. is set to open its 89th mall in the Philippines, SM City La Union, this Friday, October 17, in San Fernando City.

The new mall features over 51,000 square meters of leasable space, with 80% already occupied by tenants such as Levi's, Adidas, Puma, UNIQLO, and National Bookstore.

This marks SM Prime's ninth mall in Northern Luzon, designed as a landmark for residents and tourists.

SM City La Union aims to complement La Union's vibrant lifestyle and culture, known as the region's surfing capital.

A key feature is the 1,348-square-meter Sandbox, an outdoor venue for events, sports tournaments, and concerts, which includes a bike line parallel to a man-made sandbar.

The mall will also house the province's first Director's Club cinema.

SM Prime President Jeffrey Lim expressed hope that the mall's diverse offerings will strengthen La Union's position as a tourism and economic hub in Northern Luzon.

The company aims to leverage La Union's tourism industry, which generated over P1 billion in revenues last year.

SM Prime's growth strategy includes integrated property developments, premium residences, and continuing to anchor growth on malls.
