SM Prime Holdings transfers NU and APC to retail electricity program

SM Prime Holdings Inc. has transferred its National University (NU) and Asia Pacific College (APC) to the Retail Aggregation Program (RAP) to reduce power expenses and enhance control over their electricity supply.

The agreement involves 967.13 kilowatts (kW) of demand for APC and three NU buildings in Manila, with AdventPower as the electricity provider.

NU is also considering extending RAP to 40 of its locations across the country.

According to Energy Regulatory Commission CEO Monalisa Dimalanta, the savings from RAP can be reinvested in improving educational facilities and potentially lowering tuition fees.

SM Prime's move makes them the second institution to join RAP, following Philippine Cultural College which adopted the program in March for its five campuses.
