South Korea has evacuated its citizens from the Diamond Princess cruise ship quarantined in Japan, sending a presidential aircraft for four nationals and one Japanese spouse.

The Diamond Princess, operated by Carnival Corp, has been quarantined in Yokohama since February 3rd, carrying approximately 3,700 passengers and crew.

Over 540 people on board have tested positive for the coronavirus, with many infected individuals transferred to hospitals.

The United States, Canada, Australia, Italy, and Taiwan have also evacuated their citizens from the ship.
