Shear line displaces nearly 1,000 families in Bicol; 1 dead, 3 missing

Nearly a thousand families in Bicol were evacuated over the weekend due to the shear line, according to the Office of Civil Defense (OCD).

Of the 955 families displaced, 3,752 individuals are staying in evacuation centers or with relatives across five provinces.

The OCD recorded flooding in 10 local government units, affecting 49 barangays.

The bad weather also resulted in the destruction of one house and damage to ten others.

Tragically, one person died in a landslide in Camarines Norte, and three others are reported missing in Camarines Sur.

Authorities are monitoring Mayon Volcano for potential lahar flows, with evacuation advisories in place if rainfall reaches certain thresholds, although current levels are below the threshold.
