Severe Tropical Storm Opong intensifies, Signal No. 3 raised over Sorsogon, Albay, Masbate

Severe Tropical Storm Opong has intensified, prompting PAGASA to raise Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 3 in three areas: Sorsogon, the southern portion of Albay, and Masbate.

The storm's center was last located 150 kilometers east of Borongan City, Eastern Samar, with maximum sustained winds of 110 kph and gusts of up to 135 kph.

Opong is currently moving west-northwestward at 20 kph.

Signal No. 2 has been raised in several areas including Laguna, Batangas, southern Quezon, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, the rest of Albay, Catanduanes, Marinduque, Occidental Mindoro, Oriental Mindoro, Romblon, and the Calamian Islands.

Signal No. 1 is hoisted over much of Luzon, including Metro Manila, Central and Southern Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Ifugao, Southwestern Mountain Province, Benguet, Southern Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Aurora, Nueva Ecija, Tarlac, Zambales, Bataan, Pampanga, Bulacan, Rizal, Cavite, the rest of Quezon, Cuyo Islands, and Northern mainland Palawan.
