Severe Tropical Storm Kristine makes landfall in Isabela, moves to Ilocos Sur

Severe Tropical Storm Kristine made landfall in Divilacan, Isabela, and has moved over the coastal waters of Ilocos Sur.

The storm, with maximum sustained winds of 95 km/h and gustiness of up to 145 kph, is currently over the coastal waters of Santa Lucia, Ilocos Sur.

It is forecast to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility by Friday afternoon.

Kristine is expected to re-intensify and may loop back towards the PAR by Sunday or Monday.

There is a minimal to moderate risk of storm surge in the next 48 hours over low-lying coastal communities of Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora, and Zambales.

Storm-force winds are expected in Ilocos Sur, La Union, and Pangasinan, under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) no. 3.

Gale-force winds will prevail in areas under TCWS no. 2, including Cagayan, Isabela, and many other provinces in Luzon.

Strong winds will prevail in areas where TCWS no. 1 is hoisted, encompassing Metro Manila and several other regions.
