TS Kristine intensifies, Signal 3 raised in Northern Luzon

Tropical Storm Kristine has intensified into a severe tropical storm, prompting PAGASA to raise Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 3 in several areas across Northern Luzon.

Areas under Signal No. 3 include Isabela, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, central Abra, Benguet, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, northern and central Aurora, northern Nueva Ecija, Pangasinan, La Union, and parts of Ilocos Sur.

Signal No. 2 is hoisted over Ilocos Norte, the rest of Ilocos Sur, Apayao, the rest of Abra, Cagayan including Babuyan Islands, the rest of Aurora, the rest of Nueva Ecija, Bulacan, Tarlac, Pampanga, Zambales, Bataan, Metro Manila, Cavite, Laguna, Rizal, Quezon including Polillo Islands, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, and Catanduanes.

Kristine is expected to gradually intensify further and make landfall over Isabela or northern Aurora by Wednesday evening or Thursday morning.

Naga City in Camarines Sur is already experiencing flooding, leading the local government to request additional rescue vehicles.
