12 senators attend first Senate majority bloc caucus

The newly formed Senate majority bloc convened for their first caucus meeting on Monday, a week after Senator Vicente Sotto III assumed the role of Senate President.

Twelve out of the fifteen members of the majority bloc attended the lunch meeting, as documented in a photo shared by Majority Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri.

Notable attendees included Senate President Sotto, Majority Leader Zubiri, Senate President Pro Tempore Ping Lacson, and Senators Loren Legarda, JV Ejercito, Risa Hontiveros, Win Gatchalian, Kiko Pangilinan, Bam Aquino, Raffy Tulfo, Erwin Tulfo, and Mark Villar.

Senator Loren Legarda hosted the caucus lunch, with Zubiri expressing his enthusiasm for the meeting and the Senate.

Senators Lito Lapid and Pia Cayetano were absent but expected to join future meetings, while Senator Camille Villar is on maternity leave.

The meeting took place amidst reports of an alleged coup attempt by the minority bloc to challenge the current Senate leadership.
