Villar assures BPO workers unaffected by POGO ban

Senator Mark Villar has assured that Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) workers, specifically those in Special Class BPOs (SCBPOs), will not be affected by the total ban on Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGOs).

Villar, alongside Senator Sherwin Gatchalian and PAGCOR Chairman Al Tengco, conducted an inspection of SCBPOs in Aseana, Parañaque City.

The inspection aimed to understand SCBPO operations and differentiate them from illegal POGOs slated for closure by year-end.

Villar emphasized that the goal is to ensure the legitimacy of SCBPO operations and prevent job losses for Filipinos.

Currently, SCBPOs employ over 5,000 Filipinos across various industries.
