Sen. Tulfo declines Blue Ribbon Committee chairmanship

Senator Raffy Tulfo expressed gratitude for being considered for the chairmanship of the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee but stated he would decline if formally proposed.

He cited his commitment to his existing three committee chairmanships in Labor, Migrant Workers, and Public Services as his main advocacies, which he does not want to lose focus on.

Tulfo's name was among those considered for the position, which traditionally chairs the committee tasked with investigating government corruption and accountability issues.

Other senators in the shortlist included JV Ejercito, Kiko Pangilinan, Pia Cayetano, and Risa Hontiveros.

Senator JV Ejercito had also respectfully declined the nomination.

Senate President Vicente Sotto III confirmed Tulfo's consideration and stated that the next committee head is expected to be announced on Wednesday, October 8.
