Sen. Erwin Tulfo named acting Blue Ribbon Committee chair

Senator Erwin Tulfo has been designated as the acting chairperson of the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee.

Senate President Vicente "Tito" Sotto III formalized Tulfo's designation, stating that the selection of the permanent chairperson will be decided by the majority of the committee's members.

Both Senators Erwin Tulfo and Pia Cayetano have expressed openness to lead the powerful committee.

Sotto mentioned that a meeting will be called once Senator Tulfo returns from his official trip abroad with the Inter-Parliamentary Union to discuss the possibilities for the permanent chairmanship.

Tulfo's acting designation comes after the resignation of former chairperson Senator Panfilo Lacson.

Lacson cited disappointment with the direction of the committee's investigation into anomalous flood control projects as his reason for resigning.
