Sen. Imee Marcos: Witnesses in flood control probe may retract testimonies due to threats

Senator Imee Marcos expressed concern that witnesses in the Senate probe on flood control projects might retract their testimonies due to threats.

She specifically identified Orly Guteza, who previously claimed to deliver cash to former House Speaker Martin Romualdez and former Ako Bicol party-list Rep. Zaldy Co, as one of the witnesses expected to recant.

Marcos alleged that witnesses are facing pressure, threats to their families, and loved ones being placed at gunpoint, with efforts already underway to discredit Guteza.

Romualdez has reportedly backed out of testifying in the upcoming hearing, which Marcos claims will focus on implicating 17 House members.

Senate President Pro Tempore Panfilo Lacson, who chairs the Blue Ribbon committee, has not yet commented on Marcos' claims.
