Sen. Legarda receives 3rd honorary doctorate from Nueva Vizcaya State University

Senator Loren Legarda was conferred an honorary Doctor of Education degree by Nueva Vizcaya State University on October 3, 2025, for her commitment to education reform.

This is Legarda's third honorary doctorate from a state university, with previous recognitions from the University of the Philippines in 2018 and the University of Antique in 2025.

Legarda stated that receiving the degree signifies a greater responsibility and reinforces the belief in education's power to combat inequality and foster a just society.

As Chairperson of the Senate Committee on Higher, Technical, and Vocational Education, Legarda highlighted that education has been central to her legislative agenda throughout her four terms as senator.

Her legislative efforts aim to support the entire educational journey of Filipino learners, from early childhood through higher education and lifelong learning.
