Sen. Hontiveros: Sy's supposed parents not in PSA records

Senator Risa Hontiveros revealed that the supposed Filipino parents of businessman Joseph Sy are not found in the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) records.

Hontiveros presented documents from the PSA during a Senate plenary session to dispute Sy's claims regarding his parentage and identity.

Sy claimed his mother was Aida Samson Cue and his father was Emilio Toledo Sy, and that they were married in Balanga, Bataan.

However, the PSA provided certifications showing negative records for the birth and death of both Aida Samson Cue and Emilio Toledo Sy.

Additionally, the PSA has no record of a marriage between Emilio Toledo Sy and Aida Samson Cue.

Hontiveros stated that the names of Sy's alleged parents only appeared in his own registration documents, not in official PSA records.

These findings challenge the authenticity of Sy's declared origins and background.
