Senator Risa Hontiveros revealed that the Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC) has linked the alleged brother of former presidential adviser Michael Yang to the raided POGO hub in Bamban, Tarlac.
According to Hontiveros, Alice Guo's company, BAOFU, had direct transactions with a joint account held by Yu Zheng Can, an incorporator of the Bamban POGO hub Hong Sheng, and Hongjiang Yang.
Hontiveros identified Hongjiang Yang as the brother of Michael Yang, stating that his funds were used to finance the raided Bamban POGO.
Furthermore, Hontiveros shared that Michael Yang's brother, Hongjiang Yang, is an incorporator of Full Win Group of Companies, a firm owned by Michael Yang.
Gerald Cruz, also an incorporator of Full Win Group, was previously identified by Hontiveros as an incorporator of Brickhartz Technologies Inc., an illegal POGO firm whose documents were found at the Bamban POGO hub.
Hontiveros noted that Gerald Cruz is also an incorporator of Pharmally Biological, a company linked to Michael Yang and reportedly the sister company of Pharmally Pharmaceutical Corporation, which was involved in the controversial procurement of COVID-19 supplies.
Hontiveros quipped that the POGO and Pharmally members seem to be part of one large interconnected group.
The Senate committee on women, children, family relations, and gender equality, led by Hontiveros, will continue its investigation into the POGO issue.
Michael Yang's legal counsel stated that he was unaware of Yang's brother.
