POGO godfather Lyu Dong to be invited to Senate hearing

Senator Risa Hontiveros announced that alleged POGO godfather Lyu Dong, arrested on October 10, will be invited to the final Senate hearing on Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators.

Lyu Dong's alias was previously mentioned in earlier hearings, and his arrest allows for a fuller understanding of his involvement and the POGO landscape.

His testimony is expected to be crucial in the investigation concerning dismissed Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo, as there are theories linking Lyu Dong to Guo Hua Ping, believed to be Guo's Chinese name.

The Senate also aims to establish connections with other unarrested POGO big bosses such as Duanren Wu, Zhang Jie, and Huang Zhiyang, who are reportedly partners of Guo in the Bamban POGO hub.

Regarding She Zhijiang, who claimed Alice Guo is a fellow spy, the Senate has no updates on his whereabouts or contact with him, and the Department of Foreign Affairs has yet to provide information on efforts to reach him.

Hontiveros stated that with the Senate's investigation concluding, the government and intelligence agencies will be responsible for following up on established leads.
