Sen. Go denies ex-DBM-PS chief Lao was his aide

Senator Christopher "Bong" Go denied that former Department of Budget and Management Procurement Service (DBM-PS) head Lloyd Christopher Lao was his aide, stating Lao was a volunteer for President Duterte in 2016.

Go's clarification came amid the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee's inquiry into the P42 billion worth of COVID-19 supplies flagged by the Commission on Audit.

While Go acknowledged Lao previously worked in his office as Special Assistant to the President until 2018, he stated that Lao had long left his office before the procurement issues arose.

Lao's profile on the DBM-PS website, however, indicates he worked as an undersecretary in the Office of the Special Assistant to the President, the same office Go headed until 2018.
