Gatchalian questions Chinese national's Senate testimony

Senator Sherwin Gatchalian has raised questions about the Senate testimony of Shiela Guo, a Chinese national arrested in Indonesia, citing inconsistencies in her account of leaving the Philippines.

Shiela Guo claimed she departed the Philippines via sea voyages to Malaysia in early July, a narrative Gatchalian found suspicious due to the unusual travel method.

Her lawyer, Stephen David, who also represents dismissed Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo, challenged skeptics to provide proof that Shiela is lying.

David stated that Shiela Guo relied on Alice Guo when asked about their travel plans, with Alice Guo allegedly advising her not to ask questions for her own good.

Contrary to initial implications, Shiela Guo is not Alice Guo's sister, but rather the niece of Lin Wen Yi, who is Alice's father's girlfriend, and her Chinese name is Zhang Mier.
