Sen. Bong Revilla hospitalized for COVID-19, pneumonia

Senator Ramon "Bong" Revilla Jr. was rushed to the hospital for COVID-19 treatment on Tuesday, August 18, after developing pneumonia.

His wife, Bacoor Mayor Lani Mercado Revilla, announced his condition on Facebook, requesting prayers for his recovery.

Mayor Revilla mentioned that Senator Revilla's latest X-ray indicated pneumonia, making isolation in a regular facility no longer ideal.

Senator Revilla initially announced his positive COVID-19 test on August 9 and stated that his family had gone into isolation.

His family members tested negative for the virus, but a household member and a staff member had previously tested positive.

Revilla is the fourth senator to contract the coronavirus, following Juan Miguel Zubiri, Koko Pimentel, and Sonny Angara.
