SEC initiative saves businesses over P80 million in fees

Businesses have saved over P80 million in fees across 40,157 transactions due to the Securities and Exchange Commission's (SEC) initiative to lower its service charges through Memorandum Circulars (MCs) 6, 8, and 9.

As of October 29, 2025, preliminary data shows that P80.3 million in discounts were provided, with MSMEs benefiting significantly, receiving more than half amounting to P40.9 million.

MC No. 6, implemented on July 1, offers a 50% discount on physical and authenticated copies of company documents, generating P36.5 million in savings.

MC No. 8, released July 16, reduced filing fees for MSME registrations and capital stock increases, benefiting 8,506 MSMEs with P21.4 million in registration fee discounts, while over 200 MSMEs saved P19.4 million when increasing their authorized capital stock.

These fee reductions are part of the SEC's ongoing efforts to encourage MSME incorporation and simplify the registration process for companies accessing the capital market.
