First-time examinee shares success in 2024 Bar exams

A 43-year-old woman, Charmaine Arce Gabelo, is among the 3,962 passers of the 2024 Bar examinations, passing on her first attempt.

Gabelo, who previously worked as a seafarer for 12 years and pursued various business ventures, decided to enter law school in 2020.

She attributes her success to divine timing, stating that "Not every dream is meant for us. I felt like God gave this push for me."

Gabelo shared that her motivation to become a lawyer stemmed from witnessing societal injustices after returning from her seafaring career.

She encourages others who may feel it's too late to pursue their dreams, emphasizing the importance of being fully committed: "To those who are thinking that you might be late, no. No such thing as late. You should not be half-hearted."
