SC ruling allows Enrique Razon’s power firm to expand to Iloilo towns

This ruling denies with finality the motions for reconsideration filed by Iloilo I Electric Cooperative Incorporated (ILECO I) and other petitioners.
The expanded franchise allows MORE Power to serve 15 municipalities and one component city in Iloilo province, including Alimodian, Anilao, Banate, Barotac Nuevo, Dingle, Dueñas, Dumangas, Leganes, Leon, New Lucena, Pavia, San Enrique, San Miguel, Santa Barbara, Zarraga, and Passi City.
These areas are currently served by ILECO I and II.
MORE Power president Roel Castro stated that the ruling is a victory for consumers awaiting modern and efficient electric service.
The company anticipates receiving the Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity (CPCN) from the Energy Regulatory Commission to commence services in these new areas.
