Sarah Geronimo calls out corruption at UAAP opening

Asia's Popstar Royalty Sarah Geronimo denounced corruption and called for hope during her performance at the UAAP Season 88 opening ceremony.

Geronimo directly addressed the alleged deception by some government officials, stating, "Parang panloloko sa bansa natin, pinaikot-ikot lang tayo. Tama na!"

She previously criticized corruption related to anomalous flood control projects.

Following her UAAP performance, Geronimo took to social media to express her fury toward corruption sweeping the nation.

On her Instagram Story, she called for justice for those affected by widespread corruption among government officials, writing, "Nakikiisa kami sa tinig at panalangin ng sambayanang Pilipino. Nananawagan kami ng hustisya laban sa talamak at garapalang pagnanakaw sa kaban ng bayan. Panagutin ang mga tiwaling opisyal at igiit ang pananagutan. Ito ang aming paninindigan at sigaw ng pagkakaisa para sa Pilipinas."

She encouraged the youth, reminding them, "kayo ang ating mga kabataan, ang pag-asa ng ating bayan."

Her message resonated with the approximately 30,000 attendees at the UAAP event.
