Sara Duterte not confirming VP debate participation

Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte has not yet confirmed her participation in future vice presidential debates, opting instead to focus on extensive ground campaigning.

Her spokesperson, Liloan Mayor Christina Frasco, stated that candidates have the prerogative to accept or decline debate invitations, contrasting Duterte's approach with that of other candidates who may limit their engagement to "tweets and soundbytes."

Frasco also pushed back against criticism that Duterte-Carpio is a "coward" for skipping debates, questioning who among the candidates is truly hiding from the people.

Despite skipping debates, Duterte has reportedly visited 70 cities, towns, islands, and provinces in less than two months.

Duterte has mentioned that debate participation is not currently part of discussions with her team or her running mate, Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
