Sara Duterte leads VP race with 50% voter preference

Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio remains the top choice for Vice President in the May 9 elections, according to a January 19-24 Pulse Asia survey.

She attributes her consistent lead to the continued trust of Filipinos and the support of her running mate, Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.

Her voter preference increased from 46 percent in December 2021 to 50 percent in January 2022.

Duterte-Carpio garnered majority support across geographic areas, with 84 percent in Mindanao, 47 percent in the Visayas, and 49 percent to 55 percent in every socio-economic group.

Senate President Vicente "Tito" Sotto III ranked second with 29 percent, topping Metro Manila with 40 percent and the Balance Luzon group with 37 percent.
