PNP pursues absent Zaldy Co in Albay
The Sandiganbayan has ordered the arrest of former Ako Bicol representative Zaldy Co and 17 others for alleged corruption in a P289 million flood control project.
DILG Secretary Jonvic Remulla stated that Co and 15 others were given until Monday, November 24, to surrender, with a warning of being hunted down if they do not comply.
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. announced that arrest warrants were issued against Co and 17 individuals from the Department of Public Works and Highways and Sunwest Corporation.
The National Bureau of Investigation had previously urged Co and others involved to surrender, emphasizing the benefits of voluntary surrender.
The DILG has instructed the Philippine National Police to implement the warrants properly and in accordance with the law.
Despite attempts by police in Albay and Taguig City to serve arrest warrants at his home, condominium, and Sunwest Inc.'s office, Co was not found.
Relatives and employees stated they have not seen Co for a long time and do not know his whereabouts.
