San Juan, La Union partners with GCash for digital financial aid distribution

The local government unit (LGU) of San Juan, La Union has partnered with GCash to modernize its financial assistance distribution system, aiming for faster and safer delivery, especially before the holiday season.

This collaboration introduces a digital Fund Disbursement Service and provides free GCash Visa Cards to beneficiaries, replacing the previous manual payout process.

Mayor Mariquita P. Ortega highlighted that the initiative aligns with the LGU's commitment to efficient and transparent public service delivery.

The new digital system significantly reduces queues and the risks associated with manual cash handling, ensuring timely and secure aid for citizens.

Beneficiaries can now receive financial assistance more quickly through the GCash app or the GCash Visa Card, which is also accessible to those without bank accounts or mobile data.
