San Juan City nearing COVID-19 herd immunity

San Juan City is nearing herd immunity against COVID-19, with approximately 82.2% or 70,269 of its 85,400 target population having received at least one vaccine dose as of June 29.

Mayor Francis Zamora aims for 100% of the target population to receive their first dose by mid-July and full vaccination (two doses) by the end of August.

The city has begun using Moderna vaccine doses, initially supplying 900 individuals from a batch of 1,800.

San Juan City is currently vaccinating around 3,000 people daily and anticipates this number to reach 4,000 to 5,000 with the opening of a third vaccination site at Greenhills Shopping Center.

Nationwide, the Philippines has administered over 10 million vaccine doses as of June 27, with more than 7.5 million first doses and over 2.5 million second doses.
