Samar gov t places Tarangnan under ECQ

The provincial government of Samar has placed Tarangnan town under enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) due to the rising threat of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).

Tarangnan, a fourth-class town with a population of 25,000, is considered the most affected in Eastern Visayas, accounting for 20 of the region's 25 cases.

Governor Michael Tan issued Executive Order No. 25, restricting movement in Tarangnan from May 16 to May 31.

Residents below 20 and above 60 years old, pregnant women, and those with high-risk infections are strictly prohibited from leaving their homes.

Only one person per household, aged 21 to 59, with a quarantine pass, will be allowed out for valid reasons.

Those leaving their homes must wear face masks at all times, and workers must present employment certification.
