Roque slams gov't Interpol Red Notice bid as political retaliation

Former presidential spokesperson Harry Roque has slammed the Philippine government's bid to secure an Interpol Red Notice against him, calling it an act of political retaliation and a breach of international law.

Roque asserted that he is a protected asylum seeker under Dutch and European Union law, possessing official documentation to support his status.

He argued that the syndicate trafficking charge filed against him is baseless, fabricated, and politically motivated, designed to silence critics of the current administration.

Roque also stated that the government's request violates Interpol's human rights obligations as outlined in its constitution.
