Robredo may seek reelection for opposition unity

Vice President Leni Robredo running for reelection is an option on the table for the opposition's unity talks for Eleksyon 2022, according to her spokesperson Ibarra Gutierrez.

This possibility was discussed among Liberal Party members as part of ongoing efforts to form the broadest possible coalition and rally behind a single candidate.

Gutierrez stated that Robredo is willing to consider this option if it is necessary for a true collaboration among various parties.

Robredo's ultimate goal for 2022 is to prevent a Duterte administration bet or former Senator Bongbong Marcos, Jr. from winning the presidency.

The filing of certificates of candidacy begins on October 1 and ends on October 8, giving politicians approximately one week to finalize their decisions.
