Robinsons Retail, Top Breed renew UP Maroons sponsorship for 16th year

Robinsons Retail and Top Breed dog food, both part of the Gokongwei group, have extended their sponsorship for the UP Maroons men's basketball team for a 16th consecutive year.

This long-standing partnership has been instrumental in the UP Maroons' recent success, including two championships and two runner-up finishes in the UAAP.

Robina Gokongwei, chairman of Robinsons Retail, expressed pride in the team's turnaround from being winless in their first year of sponsorship.

UP president Angelo Jimenez highlighted the team's resilience and inspiring spirit, emphasizing that champions are defined by their ability to learn and regroup after setbacks, drawing parallels to UP's broader achievements.

Both Vincent Go, head of URC-AIG (Top Breed's parent company), and Robina Gokongwei are alumni of UP, reinforcing the connection between the sponsors and the university.
