RJ Jacinto named DICT undersecretary

President Rodrigo Duterte appointed musician and businessman Ramon "RJ" Jacinto as the new Undersecretary of the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) on May 22.

Jacinto fills the position left vacant by Eliseo Rio Jr., who resigned from his post on January 31.

The Palace confirmed Jacinto's appointment, which was co-signed by Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea.

Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque expressed confidence that Jacinto will serve the DICT with dedication and integrity.

Before his new designation, Jacinto served as the Presidential Adviser on Economic Affairs and Information Communications Technology.

Jacinto, a musician and businessman, also campaigned for Duterte in the 2016 presidential elections and composed a campaign jingle for him.
