LTO postpones e-bike, e-trike impounding to January 2, 2026

The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has postponed the impounding of e-bikes and e-trikes on national roads to January 2, 2026, following public complaints.

Instead of enforcement, December 1, 2025, will be utilized for an information drive to make motorists aware of the prohibition.

LTO chief Assistant Secretary Markus Lacanilao stated that President Bongbong Marcos and acting transportation Secretary Giovanni Lopez are aware of the public's concerns.

Lacanilao assured that guidelines will be issued to clarify where Light Electric Vehicles (LEVs) are allowed and prohibited.

He emphasized that there will be no further extensions after January 2, 2026.
