Revilla pushes NCSC to release expanded centenarian cash gift by January

Senator Ramon "Bong" Revilla Jr. is urging the National Commission of Senior Citizens (NCSC) to implement the expanded Centenarian Law by January 2025, warning of potential backlash from elderly Filipinos if they fail to do so.

The expanded Centenarian Law, signed in February 2024, grants a P10,000 cash gift to senior citizens aged 80, 85, 90, and 95, in addition to the P100,000 already given to centenarians.

Revilla emphasized that the NCSC should not delay the distribution, as nearly 200,000 senior citizens are expecting these benefits, which they have been anticipating since March.

He reminded the NCSC that they have been provided with sufficient time and funding to prepare for the payouts and called on them to ensure that the distribution process is ready to commence in January 2025.
