Rep. Rodriguez calls for ceasefire on attacks vs. Pacquiao

Deputy Speaker and Cagayan de Oro City Representative Rufus Rodriguez is calling for a "ceasefire" on attacks against Senator Manny Pacquiao amidst internal issues within the ruling PDP-Laban party.

Rodriguez stated that the ceasefire would enable Pacquiao to focus on his upcoming boxing match against Errol Spence Jr., emphasizing the need for him to prepare without distractions.

The lawmaker urged Filipinos to support Pacquiao, highlighting the pride and honor he brings to the country, and suggested addressing political disputes after the fight.

Rodriguez advised the feuding factions within PDP-Laban, namely Pacquiao's camp and Energy Secretary Alfonso Cusi's group, to bring their leadership dispute to the Commission on Elections and the Supreme Court post-fight.

He also suggested that Cusi should prioritize addressing energy-related problems in the country, such as the red and yellow alerts indicating short supply in Luzon.

Rodriguez concluded by expressing his prayers for Pacquiao's victory, which he believes would further boost national pride.
