Rep Noel Rivera's son-in-law, aide arrested in raid; firearms seized

Two individuals, including the son-in-law of Tarlac third district Rep. Noel Rivera and his security aide, were arrested during simultaneous raids on Rivera's property.

The operation, which involved over 100 PNP-CIDG and SAF members, was criticized by residents for its "martial law-like" nature, causing fear and disruption.

Authorities seized 10 firearms with expired licenses and ammunition.

Rivera, whose family owns 3G Construction and Development Corp. where the search warrants were served, denied keeping illegal firearms and claimed no guns were found.

He is also among lawmakers tagged in anomalous flood control projects, with the Independent Commission for Infrastructure recommending criminal cases against him and others.
