Guiao cautions Rain or Shine vs San Miguel in PBA quarters

Rain or Shine coach Yeng Guiao is urging his team to avoid complacency as they approach the PBA Philippine Cup quarterfinals, especially with their next opponent being the formidable San Miguel Beermen.

The Elasto Painters, who have won their last two games against Phoenix and Terrafirma, are currently tied with Barangay Ginebra at 6-3, aiming to secure a Top 4 spot.

Coach Guiao emphasized that reaching eight wins is crucial for a guaranteed twice-to-beat advantage in the quarterfinals, as seven wins might lead to tiebreakers.

He acknowledged the strength of San Miguel, particularly with June Mar Fajardo, stating that any team aspiring for a championship must overcome them.

Rain or Shine will face San Miguel Beer in Cagayan de Oro on Saturday and Barangay Ginebra on June 15 in Antipolo City.

Jhonard Clarito noted that while their recent wins are promising, there are still defensive flaws that need addressing.
