Quiambao shines as La Salle sweeps Ateneo for first time in 13 years

Reigning MVP Kevin Quiambao set a new career-high of 33 points, leading De La Salle University to an 80-65 victory over Ateneo de Manila University in their UAAP Season 87 rivalry game.

This win marks the first time in 13 years that La Salle has swept Ateneo in the elimination round.

Quiambao's performance included 13 rebounds and he shot 10-of-22 from the field, surpassing his previous career-high of 29 points set ten days prior.

Despite his dominant performance, Quiambao expressed that he is not satisfied due to committing five turnovers, contributing to the team's total of 20.

The Green Archers are now Final Four-bound with a 10-1 win-loss record, extending their winning streak to seven games.

Ateneo's rookie Jared Bahay led the Blue Eagles with 22 points, but they now hold a 3-7 record.

La Salle is close to clinching a twice-to-beat advantage in the semifinals.
