Quezon City Hall of Justice locked down after employee's death

The entire Quezon City Hall of Justice is under lockdown starting May 18, 2020, due to the death of an employee from another agency suspected to have contracted COVID-19.

The lockdown, authorized by Court Administrator Jose Midas P. Marquez, will remain in effect until further notice to allow for contact tracing and disinfection.

Entrance of any person into the Hall of Justice buildings, including its annex, is disallowed during this period.

The deceased individual was an employee of an agency within the Hall of Justice, not directly affiliated with the regional or metropolitan trial courts.

Reports indicate the employee passed away from severe pneumonia after visiting the Hall of Justice a few days prior.

Filings for civil and criminal cases, as well as bail applications, can be submitted via email, and courts can still be reached through their hotlines during the lockdown.
