Gilas Pilipinas expands pool to 16 for FIBA World Cup 2027 qualifiers

Gilas Pilipinas has expanded its pool to 16 players for the FIBA World Cup 2027 Asian Qualifiers.

Quentin Millora-Brown has been added to the pool after his eligibility as a local player was approved by FIBA.

Ange Kouame is included as a second naturalized player option, while RJ Abarrientos has also been called up.

Kai Sotto is part of the pool and may play if he recovers from an ACL injury, with matches against Guam scheduled for November 28 and December 1.

Coach Tim Cone aims for continuity but sees the addition of new players as beneficial.

Justin Brownlee remains the top choice for the naturalized player slot, but the team will explore options with multiple naturalized players.

The PBA will suspend games to allow for extended preparation, and the core players from the FIBA Asia Cup have been retained.
