QCPD director relieved over delayed report on erring cop

Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Director Police Brigadier General Melecio Buslig Jr. was relieved from his post on Tuesday due to command responsibility for failing to immediately report an incident involving an officer's alleged misconduct.

Police Colonel Randy Glenn Silvio has been appointed as the officer-in-charge of QCPD.

The incident involves Police Staff Sergeant Jordan Marzan, who was arrested after allegedly forcing his way into a private residence, berating occupants, and injuring a minor while intoxicated.

Marzan allegedly broke into a house in Barangay Damayan on Monday morning looking for someone he accused of interfering with an anti-narcotics operation.

National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) director Police Maj. Gen. Anthony Aberin disclosed that he learned of the incident from the QCPD Station 2 commander.

Aberin stated that Buslig failed to inform him about the incident promptly.

Marzan has been inquested for unlawful entry, physical injuries, and grave threat, and is facing charges at the Quezon City Prosecutor's Office.
