QC Mayor Belmonte pushes for transparency reforms in third term

Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte aims to make the city the most transparent in the Philippines through further reforms during her third term.

Belmonte stated that strengthening existing systems is crucial to making the local government more open and accessible to the public.

She believes that public trust is the foundation of good governance and is essential for the implementation of these transparency plans.

A key plan includes the launch of an Open Data Dashboard on the city's e-services platform for public monitoring of government programs.

This dashboard will feature a section displaying details of infrastructure projects, such as schools, flood control measures, and road upgrades.

As part of these efforts, the city government intends to empower civil society organizations (CSOs) to become central players in participatory budgeting, transforming it from a closed-door process into one where every voice matters.
