QC gov't debunks viral fake news on quarantine violations

Quezon City government has warned the public against a viral social media post that falsely claims the city is implementing indiscriminate arrests for quarantine violators.

The city government clarified that several points in the alleged post, including strict face mask mandates and inflexible curfew regulations, are untrue and misleading.

The advisory specifically debunked claims about arrests for minor curfew violations and misrepresentations of policies on face mask use in private vehicles.

It also stated that the social media post falsely included violations such as cutting lines at checkpoints and overtaking trucks.

Quezon City officials emphasized that their intensified enforcement of health measures does not involve arbitrary arrests for minor infractions.
