PNVF tasks PVL to form women's national team
The Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) has officially tasked the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) with selecting and managing the Philippine women's national volleyball team.
This decision was made during a PNVF board meeting on April 12 at Seda Nuvali, Santa Rosa City.
The PVL's mandate begins immediately with the upcoming Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) Challenge Cup for Women, which the Philippines will host from May 22 to 29 at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum.
Brazilian coach Jorge Edson de Brito will lead the women's national team.
The AVC Challenge Cup for Women will feature the Philippine team competing against squads from nine other Asian nations including Kazakhstan, Iran, Chinese Taipei, Vietnam, Australia, Hong Kong, Singapore, Indonesia, and India.
The PNVF has also partnered with Cignal TV for the men's national team's participation in the FIVB Men's World Championship 2025, which the Philippines will host next September, with Sergio Veloso handling the men's crew.
