PTV, ABS-CBN gear up for SONA 2021 coverage

PTV Network is fully prepared to provide extensive coverage of President Rodrigo Duterte's final State of the Nation Address (SONA) on July 26, 2021.

The SONA, themed "Pamana ng Pagbabago," is expected to detail the administration's achievements, its response to the COVID-19 pandemic, and future political plans.

PTV General Manager Katherine de Castro affirmed that the network will utilize all its manpower and technical resources nationwide to ensure comprehensive communication of the President's message.

PTV's coverage will commence two days prior to the event with its weekend news programs, "Ulat Bayan Weekend," reporting on the preparations.

On the day of the SONA, all PTV programs, including "Rise and Shine Pilipinas!" and "Laging Handa," will exclusively feature SONA-related news, including public rallies from both supporters and critics.

ABS-CBN will also provide comprehensive "SONA 2021" special coverage through its various platforms, including ANC, TeleRadyo, ABS-CBN News Digital, and Kapamilya Channel.

ABS-CBN's coverage will feature journalists like Karmina Constantino and Christian Esguerra on ANC, and Henry Omaga-Diaz, Karen Davila, Peter Musngi, Rica Lazo, and Ricky Rosales on TeleRadyo.

Both networks aim to deliver the President's message, alongside analyses, insights from various sectors, and public reactions to the SONA.
