PSC, POC extend financial aid to national team members affected by Typhoon Odette
The Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) has approved P15,000 in cash assistance for 85 national athletes and 20 coaches from 24 sports affected by Typhoon Odette.
The PSC is also providing P50,000 for the rehabilitation of the weightlifting gym in Bohol.
Relief goods, including 10,000 bottles of water and 900 mattresses, are being distributed by the PSC in coordination with the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
The Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) has sent P10,000 each to 10 surfers and two coaches in Siargao, and Olympic marathoner Mary Joy Tabal in Cebu City.
Additionally, the PSC will provide a P10,000 holiday bonus to 1,421 athletes and 349 coaches, separate from their monthly allowances.
