The Philippine Sports Commission (PSC), Department of Health (DOH), and Games and Amusements Board (GAB) have issued supplemental guidelines for the bubble training of national athletes preparing for the Southeast Asian Games.
This joint order allows both contact and non-contact sports to train in areas classified under moderate and low-risk community quarantine.
National athletes and personnel below 18 years old are required to have written parental consent.
The PSC, Philippine Olympic Committee, Philippine Paralympic Committee, and respective national sports associations (NSAs) will be in charge of risk assessment of the areas.
The national sports federations will be in charge of planning with the host local government unit and Regional IATF.
Tagaytay, Sta. Rosa, and Taguig City have agreed to host the training bubble.
The bubble-type trainings shall be implemented under strict supervision and monitoring of the PSC medical scientific athletes services (MSAS) unit and Joint Administrative Order-designated health and safety officers.
The development came after the successful inoculation of Tokyo Olympics- and SEAG-bound athletes last week, as well as the upcoming resumption of national team trainings in July.
All athletes and coaches are expected to be fully vaccinated in the coming months.
