President Marcos Jr. signs law expanding PSHS System

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has signed Republic Act No. 12310, expanding the Philippine Science High School (PSHS) System to enhance its governance and management.

The new law aims to establish more strategically located PSHS campuses offering scholarship-based STEM education for gifted students.

It will unify existing and future campuses under a single governance structure to ensure uniform quality standards and efficient operations.

A new PSHS campus will be established in the Negros Island Region as part of this expansion.

The law also establishes a Board of Trustees, chaired by the Secretary of Science and Technology and vice-chaired by the Secretary of Education, to oversee the system.

An executive director will lead the PSHS System, providing academic and administrative supervision to all campuses.
