PRC sends 6 more medical tents to Cebu amid COVID-19 surge

The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) has sent six additional medical tents to Cebu Province to help manage the increasing number of COVID-19 cases.

These new tents, each measuring 72 square meters and capable of holding up to 10 beds, will be set up in various hospitals across the province, including Vicente Sotto Medical Center, Talisay District Hospital, Cebu City Medical Center, Mandaue District Hospital, and Eversly Child Sanitarium Hospital.

The Cebu chapter of the PRC already has six medical tents, and the organization plans to establish a fully equipped Emergency Field Hospital (EFH) in Cebu.

PRC Chairman and Senator Richard Gordon affirmed the organization's commitment to assisting the most vulnerable during the pandemic.

This deployment follows a previous action in June when the PRC sent medical tents to Cebu to serve as triage and isolation areas during a prior surge of infections.
